Yorkville Kendall Crossing Movie Theater Opening Soon

Showings of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" can be pre-purchased.

In September, Neighborhood Cinema Group (NCG) Marketing Director Pat O’Boyle told Patch they hoped to open the  Yorkville Kendall Crossing Movie Theater in time for "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire."

They made that goal.

According to the NCG website, the Yorkville movie theater will have it's grand opening on Thursday, Nov. 21.

For all fans of the Hunger Games, tickets can be purchased now online with pick-up at the concession stand for "Catching Fire." Tickets start at $8 for matinee pricing.

Several showings of the movie will be in the "Xtreme Theater," which O'Boyle described as a large format theater with premium seating and premium sound.

The 38,500-square-foot theater will have have 9 other screens. Kendall Crossing Movie Theater, 1505 North Bridge Street, is built almost exactly where the previous Countryside Theater was.

All moviegoers will be happy to know that NCG movie theaters offer free refills on popcorn and drinks of all sizes.

Will you be visiting Kendall Crossing for the holiday movie line-up?
