YPAC Collecting Items for Tornado Victims

Items can be dropped of now through Friday, Nov. 22.

In response to the devastating tornadoes that ripped through parts of Illinois on Sunday, a local organization is looking to help.

Yorkville Performing Arts Center is collecting a variety of items that will be donated to residents in the Diamond, Ill. and Coal City, Ill. area.

YPAC owner Emily Weber's parents live in Diamond and although she said they are unhurt and their home is safe, there are plenty of others who need help.

Donations can be dropped off at the YPAC main lobby, 2161 Route 47,  anytime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. through Friday, Nov. 22. 

The items they are collecting include:

  • Non-perishable food items
  • Bottled water
  • Toys
  • Large Garbage Bags
  • Tolietries
  • Work Gloves
  • Bleach
  • Buckets 
  • Sponges
  • Mops
  • Towels
  • Baby Formula
  • Infant care items
  • Diapers
  • Bedding
  • Flashlights
  • Batteries
  • Manual can openers
  • Aspirin
  • Duct Tape
  • Tarps
  • Scissors
  • Toliet Paper
  • Paper Towels
