My name is Sue Smith. I am thrilled to be writing this blog! I have always had this little comedic dialogue running through my mind and what a great format I now have to share those thoughts :) My intent is to share with you the wisdom that I have gathered over 29 years in the fitness industry! I have so many health and fitness clippings in my house that if we ever have a fire it will be gone in a flash! This blog will be mostly be about health and fitness but just giving you the heads up, I have a multifaceted life (a nice word for complicated :)  and my life stories can’t help but creep into my posts.

I have been in the fitness business since 1985. I am a Certified Personal Trainer with my own business, Get U Fit. I partner with Anytime Fitness in Yorkville as their only female trainer. I am also available to train wherever, whenever :) I am a certified Group Exercise Instructor, currently teaching at Rush-Copley Healthplex. I was the Fitness  Director at the Fox Valley YMCA for 18 years before moving on to Rush-Copley Healthplex. One of my favorite tasks has been coming up with fun, motivational programs to get people moving! And then figuring out how to keep them going- and liking it!!

Another big piece of who I am, is my desire to help people get through the tough times in life.  Since 1987 I have been helping people form various support groups-everything from eating issues to 12 Steps-because I believe that we shouldn’t go through life's challenges alone.

On a personal note, I LOVE my family! I am very close to my chaotic, crazy extended family. I have been married to Tim for 33 (mostly great) years! We have 2 adult children; a son-in-law; and I am having tons of fun being “Nonni” to 2 absolutely adorable little grandsons and a beautiful grandaughter! I attend Resolution Church in Oswego where as a volunteer I oversee a weekly gathering called Hope Street where 5-6 support groups meet every Wednesday night. I enjoy music, movies, magazines, margaritas, motorcycles, and the internet.

And I tend to write (and talk) in exclamation points and smiley faces  :)
