Area Man Charged with Multiple Counts of Child Pornography

Matthew D. Holmes, 29, charged with multiple counts of child pornography and aggravated child pornography.

An Oswego-area man has been charged with multiple counts of child pornography and aggravated child pornography, according to the Kendall County Sheriff’s office. Matthew D. Holmes, 29, of the 4700 block of Reservation Road, was arrested after Sheriff’s deputies, assisted by investigators from the Illinois Attorney General's Office, executed a search warrant of his house on Feb. 21. The Sheriff’s office received information that an individual may be in possession of child pornography in the 4700 block of Reservation Road and initiated an investigation. The investigation charged Holmes with 6 counts of child pornography and 6 counts of aggravated child pornography, 5 of which are Class X felonies. Holmes is currently being held in Kendall …

Former Yorkville Man Sentenced for Child Pornography

Kevin J. Lyons, 54, now of McConnell, IL, was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison on 12 counts of possession of child pornography, State's Attorney Eric Weis said.

A 54-year-old former Yorkville man is awaiting trial in Stephenson County on allegations of aggravated child pornography after being sentenced last week in connection with 12 charges here. Kevin J. Lyons, 54, now of McConnell, IL, was sentenced to 30 months in prison after authorities found more than 1,000 images of undressed and partially dressed children, including some that were pornographic, Kendall County State's Attorney Eric Weis said in a news release. Lyons was convicted of 12 counts of possession of child pornography in June. “Children are the most vulnerable and susceptible victims to abuses. and possession of images that victimize children by predators like Kevin Lyons must be stopped," Weis said in the news release.
