What a Little Gentleman! Yorkville Patch Announces Winner of 'Best Holiday Outfit' Photo Contest

Jennifer Slepicka, the winner of our 'Best Holiday Outfit' photo contest, submitted a picture of her son all dressed up.

The entries for our "Best Holiday Outfit" photo contest flowed in faster than letters to Santa in Miracle on 34th Street. You know, the scene where thousands of  letters are dumped in the middle of the courtroom as proof that Kris Kringle really is Santa Claus. OK, it wasn't exactly like that. But Yorkville Patch Editor Jillian Duchnowski enjoyed seeing the photographs that were submitted and has posted them here for your viewing pleasure. For some (really) funny pictures of a little girl who hasn't quite warmed up to St. Nick, check out Oswego Patch's photo contest winner. In the Yorkville Patch contest, Duchnowski numbered each entry in the order it was submitted and then used a random number generator to determine the contest winner. …

Photo Contest: Show Off Your Holiday Fashion and Family Traditions

Yorkville Patch is hosting a 'Best Holiday Outfits' photo contest. The prize? $60 in gift cards to Stonefire Restaurant & Pub.

On my first Christmas, I was photographed under the Christmas tree wearing a little overall outfit my mom sewed. On my third Christmas, I wore a ruffled white dress and was photographed next to the tree holding a doll. Perhaps sometime not too long after that, my clothing and interaction with Christmas trees became a little more commercial: Another photograph in an album my grandma kept for me shows me in Winnie the Pooh pajamas opening presents next to Santa Claus—well, Santa's helper, at least. These types of family photographs have a way of revealing family traditions—and great family fashion.
