$345 in Cash Stolen From Car: Police

Reports from the Yorkville Police Department; May 13 - May 22.

Burglary to motor vehicle Yorkville Police responded to a reported burglary to motor vehicle that occurred sometime before 10:55 a.m. in the 2100 block of Bluebird Lane. An unknown suspect(s) broke a window and stole $345 in cash. DUI Jay C. Frisch, 27, of the 100 block of Colonial Parkway, Yorkville, was arrested at 10:01 p.m. at Route 126 and Colonial Parkway and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, said Yorkville police. Theft Yorkville police are investigating a reported theft that occurred between 2 and 3:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Game Farm Road. A purse with a value of $1,200 was reported stolen. Domestic battery Justin H. Carpenter, 24, of the 100 block of Appleton Court, Yorkville, was arrested at 10 p.m. at his residence and charged with domestic battery, said Yorkville Police. Burglary Yorkville police took a report for a residential burglary that occurred between May 8 and May 14 in the 300 block of West Main Street. An unknown suspect(s) entered a garage and took a chainsaw, valued at $230. Yorkville Police Save Suicidal Man’s Life Near Palmer Dam

Man jumped into Fox River and Yorkville Police pulled him to safety.

Yorkville Police officers saved a man’s life Friday when he made a suicide jump from near Palmer Dam. The man, who Deputy Police Chief Larry Hilt described in his mid-30s, attempted to commit suicide by jumping off the bridge near the Palmer Dam at about 10:30 a.m. May 3. Hilt said the police received a call from a witness about the man. Once police arrived the man jumped, said Hilt. “Our officers threw ropes off the south bank to him,” said Hilt. The man grabbed onto the ropes and was pulled to shore by the police. “Our officers saved him," Hilt said. Hilt said the man was able to walk under his own power, but was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora.  The Kendall County Sheriff's Office also assisted in the incident.

DUI Andrew J. Grala, 25, of the 400 block of Brvell Street, Yorkville, was arrested at 3:19 a.m. in the 400 block of Brevell Street and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage, said Yorkville police. Hit and run Yorkville police took a report for a hit and run that occurred at 8:05 p.m. on westbound Route 34 east of Game Farm Road. Over $2,000 Worth of Construction Equipment Stolen: Police

Reports from the Yorkville Police Department; April 6 - April 9.

Theft Yorkville Police are investigating a reported theft that occurred at 2:41 p.m. in the 800 block of Game Farm Road. Construction equipment valued at $2,770 was reported stolen.  Patch reports on law enforcement activity in our town, using information provided by official agencies. Persons charged with a crime, or issued a citation for violation of a local ordinance, are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Yorkville Police Assist Illinois Conservation Police in Standoff

Incident happened early Saturday morning and kept residents in the area in their homes for several hours.

Yorkville Police assisted the Illinois Conservation Police in a traffic stop incident that turned into a stand-off early Saturday, April 6. At about 4:45 a.m. Yorkville police responded to the area of Trillium Court, Yorkville, to assist the Illinois Conservation Police with a suspect that had fled during a traffic stop and now refused to exit his residence. Police spent several hours negotiating with the suspect, who refused to exit the house, said Yorkville police. A resident who lived in the area said Crooked Creek Drive was blocked off during the incident and police would not let anyone in our out. All residents were asked to stay inside their homes during the incident. After several hours it was determined there was no safety issue …

Warrant Cassandra M. McKenna, 21, of the 300 block of Mulhorn, Yorkville, was arrested at 10:29 a.m. at Route 47 just north of Galena Road and charged with a warrant out of DuPage county for a failure to appear on an aggravated assault charge, said Yorkville police. She was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Attempted burglary Yorkville police are investigating an attempted burglary that occurred between 3 p.m. on March 20 and 9:15 a.m. on April 1 in the 1400 block of South Bridge Street.
