Nathan Thompson thinks its important to be responsible ecologically, but he also thinks people often forget to focus on the internal environment of their bodies. Thompson, who owns Thompson Chiropractic, 728 E. Verterans Parkway in Yorkville, will provide people with information on how they can avoid toxicity in their foods in one of three workshops scheduled for this year’s Go Green Environmental Fair. The Chamber and this year’s Presenting Sponsor, Old Second National Bank, extend an invitation to members and the public to join area business people for this premier social and networking event held Thursday, Feb. 21 at Whitetail Ridge Golf Club. Before summer winds down to a close, the Yorkville Chamber invites everyone to enjoy one last day of fun out on the golf course! The Chamber’s annual golf outing will be held on September 20 at Blackberry Oaks Golf Course, and is an event open to members and the public alike. Foursomes may sign up, but singles may also register and be paired with others to form a team. Many find this to be a great networking opportunity. Letter to the Editor: River Night Thank You

The Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce's River Night festival saw a record number of visitors.

The Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce would like to thank everyone who came out to the 6th annual River Night on June 22. Much appreciation goes to all of the sponsors, partners, and volunteers who worked hard to make this event happen!   This year’s River Night drew a record crowd of approximately 2,000 friends and neighbors who enjoyed live music, great food, and family activities along Yorkville’s scenic riverfront. Guests attending the festival were greeted by our “super hero” event sponsors, SBI Bank, Yorkville. Decked in their bright green capes, SBI offered balloons and gifts to children.   The festival kicked off with a lively performance by Spirit Cheerleaders. Costumed Characters, Bounce Houses Planned for Kids at River Night

The Cat in the Hat, other Seuss characters to make an appearance at the Chamber's major fundraiser Friday.

A red-and-white striped hat might be bobbing above the crowd Friday at the Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce's River Night festival. The signature hat of the Cat in the Hat, that is. Fox Country Players is bringing the Cat, along with Thing One and Thing Two, to the festival at Bicentennial Riverfront Park. The famous Seuss characters will be available for photographs with young attendants, and (with parents' permission) the photos will be posted on Yorkville Patch. I'll be there, too, in my green Patch t-shirt and with my camera in hand.(In the spirit of full disclosure, I'm on the Chamber's planning committee for the event.)
