The following is from a press release issued by the Kendall County Sheriff's Office: The Illinois Sheriffs’ Association announces that it will be awarding over $53,000 in college scholarships throughout the State of Illinois to students wishing to pursue higher education during the 2013-2014 academic year. The scholarships are to be applied to tuition, books, and fees only. The student must be enrolled full-time at a certified institution of higher learning within the State of Illinois. Sheriff Richard A. Randall, Kendall County, will be awarding one scholarship in the amount of $500. There will be no restriction on any applicant by reason of race, age, creed, color, sex, or national origin. The only limitations are as follows: …

The Yorkville Junior Women's Club provided the following news release: The Yorkville Junior Women's Club is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship. The scholarship is open to all high school seniors who are Yorkville residents. Yorkville High School students can obtain a scholarship form from Diane Wallin beginning Tuesday, March 20. Two individuals nominated from each Kohl's store will win a $50 Kohl's gift card.
Kohl's is accepting nominations for outstanding young volunteers from Feb. 1 to March 15 for its 2012 Kohl’s Cares Scholarship Program. You can nominate volunteers ages 6 to 18 at kohlskids.com. You must be 21 years or older to nominate someone. Two nominees from each Kohl's store will win a $50 Kohl's gift card. More than 200 of the store winners will win regional scholarships worth $1,000 toward post-secondary education. Ten national winners will be awarded a total of $10,000 in scholarships for post-secondary education and Kohl’s will donate $1,000 to a nonprofit organization on each national winner’s behalf.
