National Night Out encourages the people of Yorkville to come out an enjoy of evening of music and games with their neighbors. This event was put on by the Yorkville Police Department. The event kicked off at 6 p.m. with musical guest, Yorkville Community Band, which will be celebrating 20 years of music this coming summer. The band normally plays in the Fourth of July parade as well as in the park that day, but was happy to make an appearance at this year's National Night Out. Along with music, there were several fun games for the children to enjoy as well as a moon bounce. Those who came hungry were able to enjoy food from Home Plate Hotdogs at a special discounted price.
