Yorkville Girls Complete Big Weekend with Win over Oswego

Defense, balanced attack help Foxes overcome Harmon's big game for Panthers.

The calendar year changed recently, and so did the Yorkville girls basketball team. After some up-and-down play and a slow start in the conference, the Foxes have put together back-to-back solid efforts in knocking off conference rival Kaneland Friday night on the road and then holding off Oswego, 45-37, Saturday afternoon as part of a “Hoops for a Cure” cancer fundraiser at Yorkville that later featured a varsity boys game between the Panthers and the Foxes. Oswego (6-9) stormed ahead 9-1 behind a pair of 3-pointers by Paige Harmon and a traditional three-point play by the Panthers junior.
