Editor's Note: The following is from a press release issued by the Oswego Chamber of Commerce: Tim Leverich, Chairman of the Board of the Oswego Chamber of Commerce announced today the hiring of Angie Hibben as the Chamber’s new President/CEO effective April 1. She replaces Steve Hatcher who has served in that capacity since 2009 and has announced his retirement. Hatcher is the husband of State Rep. Kay Hatcher of Yorkville. Hibben has been a member of the Chamber staff serving as Special Projects Coordinator since Spring of 2008. The 3rd Annual Santa’s Snowball Raffle is now going on. You can purchase tickets at the Oswego Chamber of Commerce, 63 W. Washington St., Oswego for $1 each and have a chance at several cash prizes. The Oswego Chamber of Commerce Leads groups again had their Great Hunger Challenge Food Drive on Thursday, November 8th and collected food and money for the Kendall County Food Pantry. Cindy Thompson, Oswego Community Bank; Jeannie LaMarre, Fox Valley Trophy & Tastefully Simple and Natalie LaMarre delivered the items collected included $1554 in cash and checks to Maria Spaeth of the Kendall County Food Pantry. The Food Pantry is still in need of small turkeys for the holidays. You may drop them off at their location in Yorkville. It's been a spot that's seen a lot of restaurants through the years. But brothers Jimmy and Qamil Ballazhi hope to make their new Italian restaurant, Tuscany, a permanent fixture near the intersection of Route 71 and Wolf's Crossing Road. They plan to open within the next 10 days. Michael Cassa, executive director of the Oswego Economic Development Corporation, said prior to the Ballazhis moving into this space, the building had been empty for about two years. "A new business moving into this space and offering employment opportunities is good for our community," Cassa said.
