Kendall County Residents and Businesses to Report Flood Damage to Kendall Emergency Management Agency

"There is no guarantee of federal financial assistance being made available, but collecting this data is the first step toward determining if Kendall County and the State of Illinois are eligible."

The following is from a release issued by the Kendall County Emergency Management Agency: Last Thursday, April 18, Kendall County experienced an extremely high amount of rainfall and localized flooding issues. In addition many homes have experienced basement flooding and property damage.  Kendall County is participating with the State of Illinois to conduct an initial damage assessment to determine if federal financial assistance is available. We request that Kendall County residents and businesses who had flooding or received damage due to the rain storm and flooding on April 17 and 18, call the Kendall County Emergency Management Agency. Kendall County Emergency Management Agency Hosting Severe Weather Basic Spotter Training

Class will train individuals on how to spot severe storms and tornadoes and how to report to local emergency management agencies.

The following was provided by the Kendall County Emergency Management Agency:  The Kendall County Emergency Management Agency (KCEMA) is hosting a Severe Weather-Basic spotter training class on Tuesday, March 12 at 6pm.  The National Weather Service will provide this training in the auditorium of the Yorkville Middle School, located at 920 Prairie Crossing Drive, Yorkville, IL  60560. The National Weather Service’s (NWS) primary mission is to save lives and protect property through the issuance of warning for hazardous weather.  The NWS trains people to identify severe storms and tornadoes and report to local and county emergency management agencies.  The NWS depends on real-time reports from trained spotters to know exactly what is …
