DUI for Man Caught Driving 104 MPH: Sheriff

Incident happened along Route 71 near Yorkville.

A St. Charles man was found speeding over 40 mph above a posted speed zone and subsequently charged with driving under the influence, said the Kendall County Sheriff’s office. James D. Peters, 50, of the 6N200 block of Woodland Drive, Saint Charles, was arrested at 10:27 p.m. Monday in the 10800 block of Route 71. Sheriff’s deputies initiated a traffic stop upon seeing a vehicle speeding at 105 MPH in a 55 MPH speed zone on Route 71 near Legion Road. Peters was arrested for driving under the influence and for speeding 40 MPH or more over the posted speed limit. Peters posted a $300 full cash bond at 12:51 a.m. on Feb. 5 and is expected in court on March 13.
