Yorkville December Home Sales Up Over 2011 Figures

Median home sales price continue to increase across Kendall County, but fell in Yorkville.

The 24 detached, single-family homes sold in Yorkville during December represented a 41.2 percent increase over December 2011, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors. There were 28 homes sold in Yorkville during November. The median price of homes sold in December ($183,000) represented an decrease of 8.3 percent compared to the median price of homes sold a year ago ($200,000).  The market for detached, single-family homes in suburbs throughout Will and Kendall counties saw growth in December, MORe reported. Yorkville Home Sales Up in November

Month over month, year over year sales show improvement.

The 28 detached, single-family homes sold in Yorkville during November represented a 36.3 percent increase over November 2011, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). There were 17 homes sold in Yorkville during October. In addition, the median price of homes sold in November ($228,000) was 11.2 percent higher than the median price of homes sold in November 2011 ($205,000).  The market for detached, single-family homes in suburbs throughout Will and Kendall counties saw growth in November, MORe reported. Yorkville Home Sales Off Slightly in October

Yorkville home sales drop slightly in October from 2011 levels.

Real estate sales for singlefamily homes fell slightly for October in comparison to 2011 sales, according to statistics compiled by the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). There were 17 houses sold in Yorkville last month, down from 18 sold in October 2011. The median price of Yorkville house sales was $240,000, up from $185,813 in October 2011. Overall market for detached, single-family homes in suburbs throughout Kendall and Will counties saw growth in October, MORe reported. MORe gets its statistics from Midwest Real Estate Data. Shorewood experienced the most dramatic percent change in the number of homes sold, with an uptick of 175 percent in October 2012 over October 2011. Using 'median' is about the least useful piece of information when it comes to home sales. In the following thread of numbers; 100,100,300,300,300 300 is the 'median', whereas 220 would be the 'average', or mean.
