Local Eighth-Graders Take on a Good Cause While Competing in Robotics League

Oswego and Yorkville students attending Holy Angels School in Aurora help raise awareness about Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

A robotics team from Holy Angels School in Aurora accepted the difficult challenge of competition and went above and beyond to spread awareness for a good cause. FIRST LEGO League, or FLL, is a robotics program for ages 9 to 14 and is "designed to get children excited about science and technology—and teach them valuable employment and life skills," according to its mission statement. FLL currently has more than 15,000 teams representing over 50 countries. One FLL team from Holy Angels named itself "Mission Possible." The team's "mission" is spreading awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, and by "possible" the team members mean "to give hope and strength to those who live with Duchenne."
