Yorkville Nurse Wins Nursing Excellence Award

Christina Bourque, a nurse at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, received the 2013 Perinatal Nursing Excellence Award.

The following was provided by Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital:   Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital’s Christina Bourque, night shift charge nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nursery, Yorkville resident, was selected as one of five nurses in the U.S. by the March of Dimes to receive the 2013 Perinatal Nursing Excellence Award. The March of Dimes Nursing Excellence Award Committee received numerous nominations, all of whom displayed outstanding qualities. Bourque was chosen because of her professional accomplishments, personal commitment to the care of mothers and babies and her “can do” spirit to go the extra mile. Updated: Sheriff's Police Investigating Death

Plattville's Troy DeLange was pronounced dead Tuesday after being airlifted to a DuPage County hospital.

Kendall County sheriff’s police continue to investigate this afternoon how a 41-year-old Plattville man died after police were called to his home early Tuesday afternoon. The DuPage County Coronor’s Office was conducting an autopsy this morning for Troy G. DeLange, Kendall County Sheriff’s deputy Craig French said. Police were called to DeLange's home on Pletcher Drive, which is off Plattville Road south of Yorkville, about 12:35 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an unresponsive man, according to a news release. Lifestar Chicago medical service flew the man to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, where he was pronounced dead.
