One cat is missing an eye; the other is missing a leg. Both are ready for loving homes.
Sophie and Superman are two cats who came into Kendall County Animal Control needing some veterinary attention. Sophie had surgery on her left back leg and had to have her right eye removed due to injuries sustained in a car accident. She is ready for a new home, but she sometimes startles easily because her peripheral vision is impaired so she doesn't notice others approaching her. She's about a year old and has been spayed. Superman had in infected bite wound that was serious enough for the veterinarian to remove one of his rear legs. He's about 3 or 3.5 months old, though, and full of kitten playfulness and affection. For information on either animal, call animal control at 630-553-9256.

This adorable miniature pinscher is ready for adoption now at the Kendall County Animal Control Shelter in Yorkville.
Meet Montana, a seven-year-old miniature pinscher looking for someone to take her home. Montana has been at the Kendall County Animal Control Shelter in Yorkville for about a month, according to Warden Anna Payton. And like most mini-pinschers, she said, she has a “big dog attitude in a little dog’s body.” But she’s very friendly, does well with kids and other animals, and would be a good addition to any home, Payton said. Montana is housebroken, but she has bladder stones, which cause her to urinate frequently. She’s currently receiving treatment in the form of antibiotics and a special diet. If you’re interested in adopting Montana, or any of the other animals at the shelter, call Kendall County Animal Control at 630-553-9256.

This week's dog is a six-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix who would be a fun addition to any family.
Before you ask, yes, this week’s pet is named after the Muppet on Sesame Street, according to Kendall County Animal Control Warden Anna Payton. But Abby Cadabby has a certain magic all her own. She’s a six-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix, and has been at the Kendall County shelter in Yorkville since the end of May, when her owner brought her in. Abby is sweet and laid-back, Payton said, and is spayed, microchipped and up to date on all her shots. She’s also a pretty big dog – she weighs about 67 pounds, and has lost seven since coming to the shelter and being placed on a diet. She could stand to lose a few more, Payton said, so if you’re looking for a weight loss buddy, Abby would be perfect. For information on adopting Abby, or any of the …
