Yorkville American Legion Post 489 welcomes eligible veterans from all branches of the Armed Forces. Being a memberMore of the American Legion offers veterans camaraderie as well as an ability to continue their service through volunteer opportunities. The Legion sponsors youth programs, scholarships and a multitude of community programs.

Post 489 also hosts an American Legion Auxiliary office. The Auxiliary is organized by and accepts relatives of Legion members or deceased veterans who may or may not have been members. Auxiliary members also contribute to the community through volunteer opportunities.

The University of Illinois Extension offers non-credit educational programs in agriculture and natural resources,More community and economic development and family and consumer sciences. Programs include the 4-H and Cloverbuds youth programs, nutrition and gardening information and training for child care providers. Plenty of volunteer opportunities are available, from master gardeners answering questions at local farmers markets to area residents collecting and distributing data on local rainfall.

Built in 2003, Trinity Church is a combination of churches from Montgomery, Bristol and Yorkville United MethodistMore Churches. Through a variety of missions throughout the year, including volunteer work at the Hesed House, donating food to the Kendall County Food Pantry and raising money for the Kendall County Crop Walk, Trinity Church serves its local community. Trinity Church United Methodist have also provided immediate relief from natural disasters, such as the earthquake in Haiti, the Hurricane Katrina Relief Project and vitamins collections. Along with its dedicated missions, Trinity Church offers Christian education for groups of all ages.
