Hey Roy, so killing innocent babies is OK with you, and people who try to stop the slaughter of overRead More 40 MILLION innocent babies since Roe V Wade are A$$HOLES, you are a freaking COWARD!!!

So let me get this straught. When it is something you agree with it is freedom of spech but when itRead More isnt i am not afforded the same freedom. And as far as abortion, i dont consider an embryo a baby until it us born so screw you who think you are the moral voice for evrryone.

Okay, freedom of speech is one thing, but these people truly were assholes, and there's just noRead More other way to put it! They were blocking public sidewalks, many of them actually had chairs in the middle of the sidewalks and were actually blocking people from going around them, one woman I saw actually verbally got into it with someone, and another idiot actually pretty much stepped out in front of my car and almost got hit and almost caused an accident since I was being tailgated. They're jerks, and they definately don't belong along our streets. As a parent and all, I don't want my kids exposed to these idiots!

We don't often get storms of this character in Chicago-proper the magnitude of which gives us moreRead More than a concerned eye for those unprotected in the outskirts .

Their internal communications leave much to be desired. I respect and appreciate their hard work,Read More but the people in "customer service" are always given less info to work with than they used to receive. There needs to be a much better system to communicate to customers what delays may exist and why the do exist. The consumer's deserves better. Of course, we could all switch to solar back-ups, thereby lessening our reliance on a corporate monolith. No, not to replace. Not at today's level of technology. But as an option to power a refrigerator and a TV is doable with some recent advances. Watch it, Excelon. You could become less of a need and more of an option. Keep customers better informed.

If anyone is old enough to remember... This has shades of Mayor Bilandic in '79. One of the fewRead More times a local weather event can be pinpointed as the cause of a politician losing an election. Hopefully, this event becomes another one. Even more hopefully, before someone needlessly dies or is injured.

I'm not aware of any distinction between township and village sirens, I think they are allRead More interconnected. BTW the sirens are meant to warn people outdoors. They are not meant to warn people indoors who have access to TV, radio, internet, etc. The storm was very loud and with the high winds blowing the sound around it would be very difficult for people indoors to hear the sirens.

I think we already had enough warnings. You would have to be from outer space not to know to stayRead More away from the Kennedy expressway. It has been the opening story on almost every newscast for over a week.

Prairiefest has expanded well beyond a local community celebration which goes against the mission ofRead More the Oswegoland Park District. Taxpayers shouldn't be paying for a large event such as this that also benefits attendees from outside the taxing district. Time to scale it down to a LOCAL event.
