Candidate Questions
• What is the primary reason you are running for this office?
During the past several years, the city has not had the focus and drive to correct the issues that have been presented in a timely and appropriate approach. Our city needs to be more proactive in its resolve to deal with our mounting debt burdens, expanding staff costs and reduced revenue streams.
• What will be your single most important priority if you get elected?
Working with the city staff, mayor and other council members to ensure that Yorkville has the resources to maintain and improve our aging infrastructure.
• What sets you apart from the other candidates?
The background that I bring with me, the knowledge of the municipal process and my experience working with municipalities provides me an ability to see issues in a different light than most.
• How long have you lived in Yorkville?
I have been a resident of Yorkville for 15 years.
• What's your favorite thing about Yorkville?
Yorkville has a great sense of community. We have great parks, 33 and counting, with wide array of amenities, excellent schools and various shopping & dining experiences.
• What is the biggest problem in Yorkville?
The largest issue facing our City is our debt to revenue ratio. Yorkville cannot sustain itself at its current levels.

Now this is a guy who sounds like the kind of people we should have had on City Council for the last 8 years. I live in Ward 1 and cant vote for him. I'll be telling my friends in Ward 3 to vote for him.

My wife and I believe Chris is the best candidate in Ward 3. We look forward to giving Chris our vote.
The largest issue facing our City is our debt....Eliminate all waste and continue to reduce spending.
If Munns wants to keep his spot in two years, then he better keep the cuts coming. He will not run uncontested next time around.

Chris Funkhouser is definitely the man for the job. My husband and I support him 100 percent and plan to vote for him on April 5th. He has the experience, understanding, and common sense to help Yorkville become the vibrant community it once was.

He came to my door and argued with me about what I would like to see in Yorkville. If he cannot respect someone elses opinion, then he will fit in with the rest of the Republicans that do not really care about the people around them...

I appreciate your comment here. If I came across as argumentative, I apologize. That has never been my tactic in this campaign. I feel that I have lead an unbiased campaign which was not intended to steer anyone one way or another. I presented facts and openly discussed the issues. Chris nice job, but you could have come to her door with roses in one hand and candy in the other and she still would have complained. She drank the kool aid that burd was giving out. If she was so upset why did she not say anything while you were at the door? She is angry because you would not agree and drink the kool aid also. Congrat on last nights win you slaughtered that nut. Be true to the people and not the party and in four years you won't be a loser like robyn.
