St. Patricks became a parish in 2002, with the construction of its current church. Before that, St. Patricks had been a mission of the Joliet, Illinois, diocese since its creation in 1885. St. Patricks Church follows the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church in worship, praise and community involvement. The church has a strong religious education program and music programs, hosting a children's choir, teen choir, quintet, adult choir and funeral choir. It is also active in missions and serves the community through food pantry donations, Christmas gift collection, funeral luncheons and help with natural disaster recovery and global ministries.

The community at St. Patrick is a vibrant, active group of adults and youth. They are led by spirit filled priests and deacons, welcoming all to the parish. In addition to first class worship and religious education - the parish is committed to serving the needs in the local community, nationally and internationally through the Catholic Corps of volunteers for disaster relief, the local St. Vincent de Paul Society who aids local families with various financial needs and the Yorkville Knights of Columbus - God's Divine Mercy Council who assist the needy with multiple programs including the "Chili for Charity" annual fundraiser and throught outreach to parishes in Africa. This is a great place to worship God and serve fellow peoples.
