Tickets Anyone?
When I heard Yorkville was getting a new movie theater I got real excited at the possibility of me being a ticket man. You know the guy that rips your tickets when you go into the theater? While there was excitement there was also a little bit of trepidation. How would I be different than just your average ticket person. Well for one thing I love movies. I have ever since I was a kid. I did community theater acting in shows like Mary Poppins and Fiddler On The Roof.
I know it's a tenuous connection, but as a ticket man I would still be involved in show business. Also I'd smile at the customers and say something like "Enjoy the show" or "What movie are you seeing today?" So many ticket persons I've seen just rip your tickets tickets and don't have a positive kind of energy. This is most likely because they don't think the job is important. Interaction with the customer is key. I think the job is important because I'm like Willy Wonka giving people a golden ticket to entertainment. Everybody loves movies. I think I'll make a great ticket man. Wish me luck trying to get into the new theater staff. I might see you at the show!
