Yorkville Honors Local Volunteers

City leaders honored nine local volunteers at the Community Volunteer Appreciation Night.

Yorkville city leaders presented Volunteer of the Year awards to local residents in three age categories Wednesday evening.

Marie Spaeth, executive director of the Kendall County Food Pantry, gave a short speech after winning the adult category. Derek Wbecke of Boy Scout Troop #40 was honored in the teen category, and Rose Delo was honored in the senior category.

The brief program also recognized volunteers who were nominated for the annual awards, and those who nominated them.
