Looking for Community minded Women in Kendall County

As the kids start school, and after a event filled summer some Mom's are looking at some free time in their schedule.  As the Holidays approach , some families start looking for projects or ways to help the Community .  And as President of the Yorkville Junior Women's Club this year, I start looking for women ( 18 and up ) that are interested in making a difference in the Community !
We are made up of diverse backgrounds and interests , but our goal is the same : better our community and make a difference in peoples lives.
We meet once a month September through May , we also have speakers and social outings to get to know one another better.
As a Club that has been in Yorkville for over 20 years , we have done alot not just for Yorkville but many groups and Organizations in Kendall County and the surrounding area have benefited from our Fundraising efforts.
I think what is wonderful , is many daughters of past members are now helping .  Members that for various reasons: jobs or childrens activities , might  stop being full time members , but always come back and help out with projects that are close to their hearts.   We will be kicking off our year with our Holiday Housewalk in December . As a honored tradition in Yorkville, it is also our largest Fundraiser and provides not only money for High School Senior Scholarships, but enables us to run Operation Santa - a toy drive for Kendall County as well as give donations to area groups such as the Kendall County Food Pantry, Golden Diners, Mutual Ground and also specific items that the Yorkville Library , Public Schools and the Parks and Recreation Dept may need.
We have partnered well with other local organizations and feel honored to be one of the longer operating Clubs in Yorkville .    The women I have met that take time , even just an hour or two, to help out at an event are such an awesome group of women !   If people knew how much time or volunteers went into some of our events they would be amazed .   My fellow Club members have jobs, families, other obligations and still give freely and generously from their hearts and times when I know they could be doing other things !
If you are considering spending some of your extra time somewhere in the community I urge you to come hear more about us ..attend a meeting, ask a member , check out our website or facebook page .   Find out more about us !  I think you will like what you find.      We will be hosing our annual New Member Reception on Thurs October 3rd at Blackstone off of Rt 34 in Yorkville .  We will start with drinks and socializing at 6:30 and will have an informational meeting and appetizers at 7 pm ( soft drinks and appetizers are on us ! ) .   Please come on out !     If you can't make it , please feel free to attend our next meeting Monday October 14th at 7 pm , at 215 Hillcrest ave, Yorkville , lower meeting room .  We generally meet there the 2nd Monday of the month from September thru May .    We do occasionally meet off site so if you are on Facebook - LIKE - us and you will always be updated on current meetings and happenings !     So if you have ever attended past events such as the Housewalk , Bunny Breakfast, Ladies Night Out , or any of our Craft Shows , we thank you ..without you we would not be able to help as many people as we do , and would not have been able to give out over $6000 including 3 Scholarships out ..many hands make light up and we are looking for some more hands ...are yours free ??
