Introduction: Reduce, Reuse, Upcycle!

Eco friendly projects.

Hi, I'm Tam.... from I Create it. I will be sharing ideas and inspiration for upcycling projects.

Upcyling,

"The practice of taking something that is disposable and transforming it into something of greater use and value". The term was coined in the book Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things by William McDonough and Michael Braungart.

I enjoy looking at what would be a discarded item, and finding new ways to use it. Reusing old clothing, furniture, or simple materials that we might normally throw out, and recreating them into something new and fabulous. I create one-of-a kind designs using recycled materials.

Hope you try some of the upcoming projects. It's so much fun, creating eco friendly designs! A great way to reduce our footprint, by making sustainable wearable art.

Tam did a prom fashion show in the Spring using all upcycled dresses. They were original designs. It was a hit.

Tam love all your work & ideas for Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! Everyone, have U watched this video? www.storyofstuff.com pass on to family & friends, it is excellent, must watch. Per capita waste production in the U.S. just keeps growing. There are hundreds of opportunities each day to nurture a Zero Waste culture in your home, school, workplace, church,& community. This takes developing new habits that soon become second nature. The Story of Stuff Project was created by Annie Leonard. She shares details about the stages of the materials economy - extraction, production, distribution, consumption & disposal; more facts & examples from all over the world. Where are t-shirts, laptops & books etc...ALL OUR STUFF COME FROM. & WHERE IT ENDS UP.
