Yorkville Runner Finishes Third in Men's Division in "Lions in the Park" 5k

Brian Craft finished the 5k with a time of 24:10.

Brian Craft of Yorkville finished third in 24:10 in the men's division of the Aurora Noon Lions Club's inaugural "Lions in the Park" 5K family fun run and walk on Sunday, May 19.

About 40 runners, from youth to adults, competed. The event started and ended at East Aurora High School after winding through Phillips Park.

In addition to Craft, other award winners were: Saul Olivans of Aurora, men's first place, 24:10; Sebastian Oros, men's second place, 24:36; Lindsay Muth, Oswego, women's first place, 31:36; Thea Neumann, women's second place, 34:17; Sue Christoffel, women's third place, 36:05; Eder Olivas, Aurora, youth first place, 31:26; Makyla Kennedy, youth second place, 39:00; and Ezra Robertson, youth third place, 41:03.

Lion Rick Robertson, race director, said event proceeds will benefit Lions vision care for local children.

Celebrating its 95th anniversary, the Aurora Noon Lions Club meets at noon on the first and third Mondays at Luigi's Pizza and Fun Center in Aurora.
