Taylor Knauf, a senior at Aurora Christian School, set a new record by clearing a 12 foot jump.

Taylor Knauf of Yorkville, a senior Pole Vaulter at Aurora Christian School, recently won the Illinois Top Times Indoor State Championship in Bloomington.

Knauf was the number 1 seed in 1A going in to the event.  She cleared 12'0" to capture the title and a new 1A indoor state record.  The previous record of 11'6" was held by Alyssa Applebee of Seneca.

Knauf attributed her success to her dedication and hard work.  Her training includes pole vault training in Bloomington three times per week, plus running and extensive weight training.  She is a member of Flying Dragons Pole Vault Club, Bloomington.
