Yorkville Middle School Volleyball Teams End Season on a High Note

The 8th grade team finished with a 14-8 season record and the 7th grade team finished 17-3.

The Yorkville Middle School Volleyball Teams both enjoyed successful seasons.

The 8th grade team took second place at the Harter Middle School Invitational on Saturday, October 5. In pool play they beat St. Charles Wrendling and Hampshire. In bracket play YMS came out on top against Kaneland with scores of 25-13, 12-25 and 25-18.

In the championship game they took on Woodridge in a three game match. The girls finished the season with a record of 14-8.

The 7th grade volleyball team ended their season 17-3 overall. During the season the girls completed in 12 inter-league matches against local schools, and 3 tournaments. During inter-league play, the girls defeated Sycamore, Sandwich, Plano, Thompson, Plank, Murphy, Traughber, Dekalb-Clinton Rosette,Washington and Cross Lutheran. Their only losses were to Plank and Kaneland.

On September 21st, the girls competed in the Sandwich Tournament and took first place. On September 28th, they competed in the Yorkville "B" Tournament and took 2nd place. They ended their season on October 5th at the Kaneland Tournament with a 2nd place finish.
