Yorkville Middle School Raises Money with Dodgeball Tournament

The money raised will go into the Student Success Fund and be available for those YMS students with financial needs throughout the year and this summer for camps.

Led by YMS Athletic Director Jeff Perzee, staff and students recently raised $617 for the YMS Student Success fund.

The 8th grade football team held an after-school Dodgeball Tournament and for $5.00 per team, students and faculty had the chance to duck, dip, and dive for the Dodgeball title. The team also sponsored raffles and Chuck-A-Duck to further their fundraising efforts.

Following the Dodgeball Tournament, which saw an amazing 35 teams compete, YMS faculty members took on the 8th Grade Girls’ Volleyball Team.

Undeterred by the 8th grade girls’ winning record, lack of practice and ill-fitting uniforms, the faculty pulled out a 2-games-to-1 win, though the 8th grade girls put forth a tremendous effort.

Coaches, faculty and students collaborated to make this event a special one. The next YMS faculty fundraiser will be the faculty vs. the 8th Grade Boys’ Basketball Team at the end of the boys’ basketball season
