Three YHS Varsity Poms Performed in London New Year's Day Parade

The three Foxettes performed with over 1,200 other dancers and cheerleaders during the parade.

Over Winter Break, three Yorkville High School Varsity Poms members traveled to London to participate in the London New Year's Day parade.

The three Foxettes - Senior Sydney Batchelor and juniors Kelsie Neahring and Chelbie Buckingham - were selected for the trip following the Varsity Summer Camp held at NIU.

The London parade dates back to the 1920’s and is a celebration of the special
relationship between England and the USA.

The girls spent the week sight-seeing in London and performed alongside over 8,000 others in the parade.

There were 1,200 dancers and cheerleaders from Varsity in attendance.

Only 25 girls were chosen to be a part of the parade finale and all three YHS varsity poms were among the 25 chosen.

Batchelor, Neahring and Buckingham were also named All-American.

Way to go, ladies!

Special thanks to Linda Buckingham for the photo and information
