The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 39-02, based in Des Plaines, IL. will be offering two classes for more experienced mariners. "How To Read a Nautical Chart" will be presented June 16, 2012, at 0830.
Charts contain information on dangerous areas, aids to navigation, harbors, wrecks, depth of water, bottom type, and magnetic variations affecting the compass.
