The Cross Lutheran girls' track team won the LSA state meet the past weekend at Concordia University in River Forrest, Illinois. This is the sixth state title for the Lady Crusaders who now have the most state victories in the LSA meet history.  Cross edged out second place Belvidere Immanual 55-52 in a closely contested meet.  Scoring started on day one of the meet with the 1st place finish of the 4x800M relay team of Ashley Malas, Lauren Daffenberg, Ava Weyrich, and Nicole Greyer, and the 5th place toss in the discus by Kendall Haug. Day two brought more scoring by Daffenberg (7th in 400M, 2nd in 800M), Weyrich (5th in 1600M), and Greyer (2nd in 1600M, 3rd in 800M), as well as Hannah Nuzzo (6th in 400M.  Day two was capped by a 4x400M relay victory by Holly Sutkay, Daffenberg, Greyer, and Nuzzo.  Also competing in the state meet for the Cross girls were Samantha Bollinger, Maggie Dervis, McKenzie Lux, Morgan Richards, and Korrin Schalhamer.

The boys' team also fought hard, finishing 4th place, missing the podium by 4 points.  Leading the way for the Crusaders were the relay team of Colton Schutt, Jeremy Schwarz, Jackson Torok, and Jon Neyer, which finished second in the 4x100M,4x200M, and 4x400 relays.  Individually scoring for the boys were Neyer (1st in 400M), Torok  (4th in 200M), and Nick Shanks (7th in 1600M, 8th in 800M).
