When and how did your business get started?
I did genealogy as a hobby for many years. Then two or three years ago, friends started asking me if they could pay me to do it. Then came a website and blog and Facebook page, and now I have done internet genealogy research for clients from as far away as Montana, Pennsylvania and Florida.
What is your business best known for?
I have just one service: I do online genealogy research. My product is a binder with a CD, and also access to an online tree.
Why did you choose the town you did to open your business?
Because Yorkville is my home!
What's something interesting about your business your customers might not know?
Many of my clients have tried researching their family history on their own, but discovered that "doing it yourself" -- and then figuring out how to organize the results -- takes more time, patience, and skill than they possess!
Besides general research, I also specialize in Amish genealogy research.
