Yorkville School District 115 Holding Public Hearing About Charter School Proposal Tonight

The meeting will take place at 8 p.m.

There's been a lot of talk about the online charter school, Virtual Learning Solutions, that wants to start up in Yorkville and 17 other school districts in the Fox Valley area.

Yorkville School District 115 will be holding a public hearing on Monday, March 18 at 8 p.m. at the Yorkville District Office to obtain information about the charter school and to hear its proposal.

The Board of Education has asked interested persons to attend the meeting to learn more about the charter school and to aid the board in making a decision.

Within 30 days of the public hearing the Board of Education will vote to either grant or deny the proposed charter. 

If the district denies the charter school's application, the proposal will be appealed to the State Charter School Commission.
