Yorkville Cross Country Coaches Earn Top Honors

Chris Muth and Ben Draper named coach and assistant coach of the year by coaches association.

It's been a big ear for Yorkville High School Cross Country and the awards keep coming. 

Yorkville High School Cross Country Coach Chris Muth was named 2A Girls XC Coach of the Year for 2012 and Ben Draper was named XC Assistant Coach of the Year. This award was voted on by all Illinois high school cross country coaches.

This is Muth's fourth-straight award.

In November the girl's cross country team won its second straight state 2A title while the boy's team finished in third-place.

Muth and Draper were presented their awards at the Jan. 12 Illinois Track and Cross Country Coaches Association banquet.

Additionally Draper was named to the board of directors for the ITCCA.

"These dedicated coaches have produced a very successful Cross Country program at YHS, earning the team much state recognition. We congratulate both of them on their accomplishments," Yorkville CUSD 115 officials said in a release.
