YMS Student Council Collects 800 Pounds of Food for Food Pantry

Students also gathered $900 to benefit the food pantry.

On Feb. 3 the Yorkville Middle School Student Council helped collect 800 pounds of food for the Kendall County Food Pantry.

The students participated in the "Souper Bowl of Caring," which is organized by the United Way for the benefit of local food pantries throughout Illinois. Many of the student council members set up at Jewel on Veterans Parkway from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. collecting donations of money and food. Students raised over $900 and collected 800 pounds of food. All donations will go to the Kendall County Food Pantry, a release from CUSD 115 said.
