Students Invited to Screen Anti-Bullying Documentary

Kind Campaign aims to teach students to choose kindness over bullying.

Students from area schools, including Yorkville High School and Yorkville Middle School, are invited to attend a Nov. 11 screening of “Finding Kind,” an anti-bullying documentary.

The event, hosted by Centennial Counseling Center, is in conjunction with the Kind Campaign. The campaign, which uses “Finding Kind” as a resource tool, is founded on the principle that kindness “brings awareness and healing to the negative and lasting effects of girl-against-girl ‘crime.’” The documentary was created in 2009 by two Pepperdine University students who were the victims of female bullying. The message is simple, begin being kind to stop the hate.

Following the 1:30 p.m. screening, students will have a chance to participate in a panel discussion on bullying.
