students and visitors might have noticed a little change at the school's two campuses this morning.

The varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders, along with coaches and parent volunteers, painted large white paw prints there as a community service project to promote school spirit.

The project took about three hours Sunday, Varsity Cheer Coach Becki Deater said in an e-mail. Principal Ron Kiesewetter brought the group all the necessary supplies and helped them get started.

"The paw prints begin at the driveway entrance of Game Farm Road of the main campus, lead all of the way down the drive to the back of the school and end at the gym entrance," Deater wrote. ", the prints also begin at Game Farm Road (north of the tennis courts) and lead all of the way back to the entrance of the football stadium."

The paw prints are about two or three feet wide, which a large red Y painted in the middle of every other pair.
