So Far One Candidate Files for D115 Board of Education Race

Dr. Robert Brenart files for re-election to board.

On the first day of filing, Dr. Robert Brenart filed his papers to seek reelection to the Yorkville Consolidated Unit School District Board of Education.

By late afternoon Tuesday he was the only candidate to have filed his nominating petitions. Filing began Monday and ends Dec. 26.

The school district will collect nominating petitions at the administration office from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Dec. 17 - Dec. 21. Candidates can also file Dec. 26 from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Four seats on the seven-member board of education are up in the April 9 election. Candidates elected will serve four-year terms expiring in April, 2017.

Eligibility to serve as a school board member includes being a registered voter and a resident of the school district for at least one year prior to the election.

School board candidates are required to gather at least 50 signatures to be placed on the ballot.
