Montessori Children's Garden Thanksgiving Food Drive

Join Montessori Children’s Garden as they hold their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive to benefit Hesed House and the Aurora Area Soup Kitchen.  Donated items are currently being collected in the school’s vestibule and will be delivered by the Montessori Children’s Garden Staff.  This event, in combination with the school’s student-prepared Thanksgiving Feast, allows the children to experience giving to those in need while learning about charity, community, generosity and gratitude.

Items most critically in need are breakfast cereal (both cold and instant packets), baby formula and size 4 diapers.  Donations of gift cards to stores such as Wal-Mart and Target are also accepted.

Other food items needed are:

Spaghetti sauce

Soups (cans or mixes)

Peanut butter

Jelly

Macaroni and cheese

Beans (dry or canned)

Rice

Canned fruits and vegetables

Canned tuna or chicken

Pancake mix

Pasta items

Drink mixes (lemonade, Tang, Kool-Aid, iced tea)

Other non-food items, such as plastic utensils, laundry detergent, diapers in sizes 4, 5 or 6 and can openers are also needed.
