Have you ever looked up your family in the census? If not, come and ask for some assistance, and we will do that with you!

If you have seen your grandparents or other family members in a census, then you know you are glad that someone indexed the records for you! Now that the 1940 is coming out, someone has to index it. The more people help, the sooner it will get done! And the sooner you can look for your Grandma!

It's not difficult! Once you practice a page or two you'll be ready to work on it at home, or anywhere there is a computer.  The more, the merrier...and the sooner it is done. Please come and help!

The same program is available at the Plano Community Library on Thursday, April 5th. We open at 10:00 am and close at 7:45 pm. Drop in, get help searching old census records; return some help in indexing the 1940 census. It's easy and pleasant work. 132,000,000 names are in it, so the more volunteers we can find to index a page, or more when you find out it's fun, means that we will all be able to use it sooner. Drop in at any of the workshop days. Or write or call to get more information.
