Cross Lutheran School announces all school open house March 23

Yorkville IL – Cross Lutheran School in Yorkville will be hosting an all school Open House on Friday, March 23, 2011 from 9 to 11 a.m. This open house will be for parents of prospective students only. Cross Lutheran School provides a comprehensive Christian education for children - preschool through 8th grade.

Established in 1881, Cross is dedicated to providing an exceptional foundation in all core subjects as well as strong Bible curriculum. Cross Lutheran School holds National Lutheran School Accreditation and is recognized by the state of Illinois. At Cross, students are challenged to grow academically, physically and spiritually and are prepared to excel and lead, no matter where life takes them. Additionally, students take Spanish, art, band and choir, computers, and physical education beginning in kindergarten. There are also numerous sports programs for boys and girls starting in the 5th grade. Cross has an extensive library, computer labs and also offers before and after school child care.

Cross offers an all day kindergarten program. In this program, kindergarteners utilize the project approach, where as a class they collectively they decide on a “project” to focus on. Some past examples have included, space, the 50 states, habitats, food and the like. Students then have lessons from all subject areas  that incorporate the project focus.

Cross Lutheran is introducing a 2 year old preschool program, as well as expanded options for the traditional 3- and 4-year old programs offered.

This open house is for parents of prospective students only. Come learn about all that Cross has to offer-an affordable, competitive Christian education.
