Cross offers a 3-year-old program which continues to develop gross motor, fine motor, spiritual, intellectual and social skills. We strive to bring a variety of learning experiences to them in a fun and exciting way. Students must be 3 years of age on or before September 1, 2013 and must be toilet trained. The 3 year-old program offers a two or three day program.

4s at Cross strives to maximize your child’s enthusiasm and their thirst for knowledge to develop individuality, with each child encouraged to reach his or her own potential. Through the use of project work, children investigate a topic through observation and experimentation. Students must be 4 years of age on or before September 1, 2013 and must be toilet trained. 4s are offered a three or five day program.

An enhanced 3 & 4 year old program is also offered for extended learning opportunities, if parents choose.  While the morning preschool offers a balance of all curricular areas, the additional lunch* and enrichment programs offers extended day learning and highlights the following areas:

  • Math Mondays: Children will have the opportunity to explore Math concepts using a variety of tools.
  • Tumbling Tuesdays: Children will stretch their muscles as well as their minds through movement (exercise, guided use of large motor equipment, group games, etc.).
  • Wednesday Wonders: Children will investigate both physical and social science topics.
  • Thursday Tales: Through the use of storytelling, puppetry and poetry, children will experience literature in a variety of styles.
  • Fine Arts Friday: Children discover the arts through direct experience utilizing music, dance, art media and the like.

* Students bring their own lunch.

Additionally, for parents who would like to extend their preschoolers day until 3:00 pm may do so with the Quiet Time & More sessions where students rest and participate in activities which coordinate with their preschool day.

Cross offers an all day kindergarten program. In this program, kindergarteners utilize the project approach, where as a class they collectively they decide on a “project” to focus on. Some past examples have included, space, the 50 states, habitats, food and the like. Students then have lessons from all subject areas and will incorporate the project focus.

This open house is for parents and children, focusing on our preschool and kindergarten programs only. Come learn about all that Cross has to offer-an affordable, competitive Christian education. Parents and students should enter the building using the “sanctuary entrance,” doors.  For more information, please contact us at (630) 553-7861, visit us at www.hiscross.org or email us at schoolinfo@hiscross.org.
