Book and Breakfast Event Draws 250 at Bristol Bay Elementary School

Parents joined their children to read books and enjoy a breakfast provided through a Target grant.

Bristol Bay Elementary School parents cracked open the books to help out with a school-wide reading program.

More than 250 people gathered Dec. 12 to read with their children and enjoy a complimentary breakfast provided by a Target grant.

"This was a very successful event," said Kelly Bachewicz, the elementary reading specialist. "It was a great way to promote reading at home!"

School officials said  parent involvement in school programs is key to student learning. The “Books and Breakfast” event was part of accomplishing that goal. The school will host another breakfast event in the spring.
