Autumn Creek Elementary Holds Pie and Wash for Philanthropy Project

Fifth grade students raised over $300 to buy goats for needy families around the world.

A pie in the face can be a delicious, if messy, experience.

Over at Autumn Creek Elementary, it also helped students with their global philantrhopy project.

Fifth grade students participated in a fundraising project to buy a goat for needy families around the world. The project was inspired by the book Beatrices Goat,which a parent in the community introduced to teachers.

Over the course of two weeks the students passed their goal and raised over $300 to purchase goats. For every dollar students donated, they received a raffle ticket. Three winners got to throw a pie in their teacher's face and the fourth got to douse the lucky teachers with a bucket of water.
