760 Yorkville Middle School Students. Squared.

Yorkville Middle School prominated, do-si-doed, and spun Friday in a schoolwide Square Dance.

Imagine 760 middle-schoolers, squared off in sets of four pairs, dancing for about an hour.

That was the scene inside Yorkville Middle School's gym Friday afternoon before the school dismissed early for the winter break. The students had been learning about a dozen traditional square dances in physical education classes for about a week, Principal Jeff Szymczak said. The event marked the 36th consecutive year for the school-wide square dance.

Editor's note: Students in the photographs are not identified - largely because they were changing partners too quickly for that to be practical. If you recognize a student, feel free to post their name in the comments section.
