Yorkville's Bond Rating Upgraded

The new rating reflects "structural recovery of the city's finances."

The City of Yorkville recently received a bond upgrading from Standard & Poor’s.

The city's rating moved up four notches BBB+ to  AA-.

"The higher rating reflects structural recovery of the city's finances and the application of our recently released local GO criteria," said a credit analyst for Standard & Poor's, Ryan Schultz.

The new rating was applied to refunding bonds and also raised the rating on the city’s debt certificates.

"The rating reflects our assessment of Yorkville's strong budgetary flexibility and very strong liquidity," said Schultz.
