Yorkville Receiving County Funds for Route 47 Sidewalks

According to a report in the Aurora Beacon News, the city will receive $5,000 this year with possibly more to come.

The city of Yorkville is set to receive $5,000 from Kendall County this year to help install sidewalks along the Route 47 improvement project, according to a report from the Aurora Beacon News.

The County Board recently approved some $50,000 for local government agencies through its Transportation Alternatives Program, which helps local entities pay for sidewalks and bike paths in conjunction with highway projects, the Beacon reported.

The city is likely to see more of those funds in coming years as it pays out its portion of the Route 47 project.
