Referendum Question:
"Shall the United City of Yorkville issue general obligations bonds, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed the limitation of applicable law, to an amount not to exceed $1 million for purposed of acquiring land and constructing bike trails within the municipal boundaries of the United City of Yorkville?"
"Shall the United City of Yorkville impose a 1 percent Non-Home Rule Municipal Retailers' Occupation Tax and a Non-Home Rule Municipal Service Occupation Tax (commonly referred to as a municipal sales tax) for expenditure on public infrastrure or for property tax relief or both in accordance with the provisions of Sections 8-11-1.3 and 8-11-1.4 of the Illinois Municipal Code (65 ILCS 5/8-11-1.3 and 65 ILCS 5/8-11-1.4)?"
Referendum Question:
"Shall the Township of Oswego, Kendall County, Illinois levy a tax at a rate of not more than 0.15 percent of the value, as equalized and assessed by the Department of Revenue of all taxable property in the Township for the sole and exclusive purpose of providing services to senior citizens under Article 220 of the Township Code (60 ILCS 1/220 et seq.) including, but not limited to, the construction, maintenance, repair, and operation of a senior citizen center?"
Election Information
• Grace period voter registration: People can update their voter registration at the Kendall County clerk’s registration office, 111 W. Fox Road, Room 103, during regular business hours (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday), according to the clerk’s website. Those people need to vote at the clerk’s office but may do so before Election Day. The grace period is March 9 through March 29; after that, you won’t be able to register until April 7.
• Early voting: Registered voters with government-issued photo identification can vote during specific hours between March 14 and March 31 at the county clerk’s office. Separate early voting hours are available between March 21 and March 31at Oswego Village Hall, according to the clerk’s website. More information is available by going to this website and clicking on “Voting in Kendall County.”
• Absentee voting: The county clerk must receive absentee voting applications by March 31. Call 630-553-4104 or 630-553-4105 to request an application be mailed to you. An application form also is available on the clerk’s website.
