Three Objections Filed to Area Candidate Petitions

A Yorkville resident is challenging whether Marty Munns, who is running for a County Board District 1 seat, has enough signatures on his petition.

The Kendall County Officers Electoral Board will meet next week to see if County Board candidate Marty Munns makes it on the March primary ballot.

Yorkville resident William Sklodowski filed an objection to Munns’ petition, arguing he fell short of the required 65 signatures. Munns, , said he had more than 100 signatures but wasn’t sure all of them were from registered voters.

“I turned in like 100, so maybe he’s challenged that some of them aren’t real voters,” Munns said.

The electoral board, comprised of County Clerk Debbie Gillette, Circuit Clerk Rebecca Morganegg and State’s Attorney Eric Weis, will hold a hearing on the matter at 9 a.m. Monday in Room 116 of the , according to Deputy County Clerk Rennetta Mickelson.

Objections also were filed to petitions for , who is running for circuit judge in the new 23rd Circuit Court, and for Ken Maurice, who is running for Illinois House of Representatives in the 84th District.
